The Heritage Life Cycle COD Recycling program is a cost effective method for recycling your mercury containing Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) vials.  These materials are typically generated by Wastewater Treatment Facilities and testing laboratories. 

 

Heritage offers a mail back option for Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (CESQG), with exception of those CESQG’s located in Arkansas, California, Illinois, Massachusetts,  Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island where mail back service for these items is prohibited.  
 

 

****COMING SOON****For CESQG’s in those states and Large Quantity (LQG) and Small Quantity (SQG) Generators, Heritage offers a pre-paid truck pick-up service.  Pick-up service will be completed within a 60-day window after scheduling your container pick-up.

 

 

COD Recycling in Four Simple Steps:

Order the appropriate recycling container on line for mercury based COD vials only.

Place the entire used and capped test vials in the container.

Once full, follow the shipping instructions and the container will be picked up by Federal Express for transportation to Heritage for recycling, where all mercury is reclaimed.

Where the mail back option is not available, approximately 30-days prior to your expected date of filling the container, call Heritage to schedule a pick-up.
